The Lawyers of Williams & Boxie, Attorneys at Law
Our lawyers share a common vision of how clients should be treated and how law should be practiced in Louisiana. Their histories may differ, but both attorneys have a level of experience and a background that continues to aid them in their current legal practice.
Attorney Kirk Williams became a lawyer in 1989 in the state of Pennsylvania. In 1992, Williams obtained both his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Austen, and became certified as a public accountant (CPA) at the same time. He began teaching accounting, business law and economics at Southern University in Baton Rouge and was the director of the Summer Business Institute for middle and high school students.
Williams has served as general counsel for the city of Baker's school system, where he reviewed and negotiated contracts between the school board, employees, independent contractors and educational partners. He litigated matters on behalf of the school board before the District Court and Louisiana Court of Appeals.
Williams was appointed by the governor of Louisiana to sit on the state licensing board for contractors, sits on the Workforce Investment Board for the parish of East Baton Rouge, serves on the city of Baker Planning and Zoning Commission Board, is the president of the Zachary chapter of Kiwanis, is a founding member of the Neighbors United for a Better Baker, and is a former founding board member of the Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation.
Attorney Shona Boxie began practicing law in 1999 in Louisiana and worked for a bankruptcy attorney who was also a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee. She is licensed in Louisiana, and is a member of both the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar Associations. She joined Williams in practice in 2004.
